The Smashing Pumpkins have launched a mailing list and advertised it with the band’s original logo. The Pumpkins said, “Sign up to be the first to know.”

D’arcy Wretzky recently announced that Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin would reunite for a summer tour kicking off in July, and that she was ‘disappointed’ when she was recently informed that she wouldn’t take part in the tour, even though she was ‘supposed to.’ 2018 is the Pumpkins’ 30th anniversary, and the 25th anniversary of Siamese Dream.

Corgan and Chamberlin have been in the studio in Los Angeles since early January, with Jeff Schroeder later joing them. James Iha was also recently photographed in the studio, though the extent of his involvement in the band’s new album is unknown. Rick Rubin is producing the new Smashing Pumpkins album.

Corgan and Chamberlin have recently been sharing photos in Rick Rubin’s Malibu studio. Corgan recently wrote on Instagram about Rubin, “Which leads me to this time, or this moment, where like so many, I share a window (curated as it is) into my crazy life. As an example, we are currently in the studio with Rick Rubin. But unless I show you a picture of Rick sitting Buddha-like at a mixing desk, you probably wouldn’t know that.”

Billy Corgan also recently discussed his new guitar on Instagram, “Here’s me showing off my NEW @reverendguitars the TerZ. For those interested in a whole new palette of guitar sounds and textures, this collaborative design between Joe Naylor and I features my signature pickups and a scaling from G to G (so if you play guitar, if you play an ‘E chord’ on the Terz it would a G major, or a 3rd higher). Super proud of this and I think it will afford modern guitarists a whole new palette of colors to make modern music. Also recommended for those with smaller hands, and the neck scaling is a touch shorter than usual.”

A studio still life #art!
