It has recently been reported that Jerry Hall, the ex-wife of The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is divorcing the media titan Rupert Murdoch whose mega outlets have or have included in the past: The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, Sky News Australia, and Fox News (Through the FOX Corporation) In addition, Mr. Murdoch has had a countless media empire that includes a “who’s who” of legacy media outlets. Recently Jagger was confused with this A list actor.
It became somewhat of a surprise when Murdoch would marry the ex-wife of The Rolling Stones frontman in 2016. However, after six years of marriage, the two have officially broken up. It should be noted that while Hall and Jagger never married on a technical level, she would file for divorce back in 1999.
According to the British media outlet, The Daily Mail, one unnamed insider stated that “Mick (Jagger) a real problem with that, referring to the fact that Rupert Murdoch was going to become part of his extended family. This has quite a lot to do with Murdoch owning several right-leaning media outlets like the ones mentioned above. In addition, during their time together as a couple, Jagger and Hall would have four children together across twenty-two years. Those children would attend the wedding of Murdoch and their mother.
The outlet is also reporting that this will be Murdoch’s fourth divorce. However, Murdoch is estimated to be worth $17.7 billion dollars. Also, when he split from his second wife, she was awarded a nearly two billion dollar settlement. Could Jerry Hall also receive a similar settlement?
