Mick Jagger‘s daughter Lizzy shared a photo a few weeks ago promoting a John Oliver speech on LGBTQ rights. Mick Jagger ‘messing up’ a The Rolling Stones performance was recently revealed.
She said, “Virginia,Please vote for candidates who will vote YES on The Equal Rights Amendment on Tuesday!❤️🇺🇸🙏♐️ #Virginia @varatifyera @equalmeansequal @iscream4equality #equalrightsamendment #equalrights #equalityforall #womenempowerment #woman #lgbt #pride #mensrights #womensrights #womensmarch #richmondvirginia #suffolkvirginia #richmondva.”
The Rolling Stones fan discussed the 50th anniversary of Altamont on the Shidoobee forums. TTTAndTheRoyalAndMightyStones said, “This coming December 6 is the 50th anniversary of the ill fated concert at Altamont Speedway in 1969. Anybody here attend? if so, what do you remember?
I wasn’t there, but I do have vivid memories from the autumn of 1969.”
He added, “The one thing I have trouble recalling is any wide spread coverage by the news media in Seattle following the ill fated concert. I know it made the news in the Bay Area, but what about national coverage back then? I do not recall reading or hearing about it at the time, but that could just be my fading memory.”
Stones726 responded, “My oldest sister went, the only thing she strongly remembers is getting hit in the head by a rock.”
TTTAndTheRoyalAndMightyStones shot back, “By the end of 1969 there really was a feeling that change was in the air. The other band was breaking up and the Mighty Stones were headed toward the top of the poppermost, where they have remained now for a half century.
Seemed like a different world back then. I lived it but it is nothing but a dream now.”
He concluded, “I thought we would hear more about Altamont, but I suppose it’s just to painful for some to re-live. Either that or most all the people that were there that day have checked out.” Mick Jagger confirming a The Rolling Stones replacement was just revealed.
