Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready was interviewed on SiriusXM last week, and he revealed how scary it was to present lyrics to and sing in front of Eddie Vedder when writing a classic song from the 2000’s. PJNB transcribed his remarks on the Ten Club board, but the verbiage may not be exact and should be taken as a paraphrase.

SiriusXM asked McCready his favorite song he has been apart of in his career with Pearl Jam. McCready also made a dark Layne Staley revelation.

McCready responded, “Inside Job. It was born out of necessity. Ed did not have lyrics. It was scary, but I sat down to write lyrics about recovery. I had to sing in front of Ed, around amazing singers I am scared of that.”

Mike McCready appeared to shoot down new Pearl Jam album rumors a few days ago, but not every fan believes him. Noload posted on the Ten Club board, “Back to tour/album..I finally listened to MM on Sirius. My take is he was playing coy. The last line of “I think it’s going to be a cool surprise” indicates he DOES know what the band is doing. I still think we see album late Nov early Dec.”

Matts3221 posted, “PJ , New Album End Of Year. Tour Announcement for US shows in Jan/Feb. PJ Summer Shows US – 20 (mostly baseball stadiums , I hope not but I think that will be the case). PJ Swing State Shows In Oct 2020. I hope they tour the whole world but living in the Northeast US , I really just want a show in Hartford CT, because it would not be Fenway and the last Hartford CT show in 2013 was mind blowing.” A Pearl Jam member revealed a few days ago how the band have avoided breaking up. Eddie Vedder announced at Pearl Jam’s last September 2018 show in Boston that the next time the band would play together would be in a studio.
