Motley Crue reunited last year to record new material for ‘The Dirt’ soundtrack, and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has revealed in a new Rock Feed interview why they were able to make most money than most bands with the release of ‘The Dirt’ soundtrack when asked about Metallica owning their own masters. Corey Taylor called out a rapist pedophile rock singer yesterday.

“That’s a very rare occurrence. I can think of maybe three bands that are able to do that. Metallica is one, Motley Crue is the other. I’m not sure about AC/DC, but I know there are a handful of bands that actually own the masters and the rights for them. But you are talking about bands that not only own their masters, but they also own the record labels they release stuff out of. Metallica has Blackened, Motley has Motley Records.

That’s a very, very small class or group. You have to be done with your contract, the original that you signed in the first place, and ready to go onto an independent basis in order to do anything like that. For bands like us and probably a million other bands out there, you simply don’t have the money to do it.”

A Motley Crue member made an emotional HIV and AIDS claim a few days ago. Jim Root told The Art And Span Show yesterday about the new Slipknot member Tortilla Man’s mystery identity, “I think we’re just gonna let it ride. Eventually people will find out who he is; it’s just inevitable in this day and age.”

“He’s a character, man. I didn’t really know him very well before he started playing with us. But he’s a hell of a musician, man. The guy is a world-class pianist; he’s a great percussionist; he is schooled in music. He’s not just a garage musician who came up and learned on his own. He obviously had natural ability, but he took it to another level and actually got a degree in music. So the guy is next level.

Plus he’s just out of his mind. I didn’t think it was possible for anybody to match us. And I’ll be standing there playing and all of a sudden I’ll hear this thump next to me, and he’ll have jumped down from his drum set. He’s, like, next to me. And I’m, like, ‘You’re insane, dude. Your knees are gonna fucking just be done.’ [Laughs]” Corey Taylor accidentally leaked a new Slipknot member name over the weekend.
