Original Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony recently announced what he’s doing to honor his grandson who tragically passed away, “On June 22nd I am participating in the third ‘Walk and Play LA’ at the LA Memorial Coliseum to support Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. There’s a family festival before and after the 3k walk with games, food, music( I might get up and jam again!) sports clinics with professional athletes and more for the whole family!

More importantly we raise money for CHLA so the doctors and nurses can continue to give the best life saving care to all children that go there. No one is ever turned away! We lost our grandson, Rex Michael Becerra to congenital heart disease at only two weeks old. We were blessed with the short time he was with us and I think about and miss him every day.”

Iconic former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar commented, “Right on Mr. Anthony and family.” He followed this with a kissing emoji that included a heart.

A fan commented, “We just had our third girl last Saturday.”

Anthony responded, “3 girls? My 2 almost drove me insane. Good luck.” He followed this up with a cute emoji.

A fan asked, “Where can we donate?”

Anthony responded, “Go to my Facebook page for the link – Mad Anthony’s Cafe. Thanks!”

A fan commented, “You are a stand-up guy…always have been a class act! And being the huge Van Halen fan I am, I stand by that you were a crucial part of what made that band what they were – both with Roth and Hagar…You are a kick-ass bass player and your voice solely was the reason that Van Halen’s harmonies/back up vocals were so good!

Wish you and your family all the best…and I support your efforts to raise money for such a worthy cause!”

Anthony responded, “Thank you.”
