Dave Grohl hasn’t been seen much since the unfortunate death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Grohl was seen at major music festivals such as New Orleans Jazz Fest where he was present with Taylor Hawkins’ widow.

However, in a new post on Instagram, the Foo Fighters frontman can be seen with Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins. This is the first studio photo of Grohl since Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins died.

“Yo!!! @davestruestories @foofighters stopped by 606 while we were recording with @stephenperkinsdrummer of @janesaddiction – what a rad dude🤟 lit a cigarette right in the middle of his studio….” band AEIR posted on their Instagram.

Grohl was also recently spotted celebrating the birthday of a friend with fellow Green Day members Mike Dirnt and Billie Joe Armstrong. Also in attendance were Beck and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer, Chad Smith. The video of the birthday celebration was uploaded to Instagram.

Speaking of Smith, he recently apologized to Grohl about his quotes in an interview with Rolling Stone. The article included quotes claiming that Hawkins privately expressed discomfort about Foo Fighters’ extensive tour schedule. The band representatives denied this though.

Smith was one of the people who discussed Hawkin’s final private conversations. He released statements on Instagram and apologized to Hawkins’ Foo Fighters bandmates like Dave Grohl.

“Taylor was one of my best friends and I would do anything for his family,” Smith wrote. “I was asked by Rolling Stone to share some memories of our time together, which I thought was going to be the loving tribute he deserved. Instead, the story they wrote was sensationalized and misleading and had I known I never would have agreed to participate. I apologize to his family and musical friends for any pain this may have caused. I miss Taylor every day.”
