Eddie Van Halen has posted a photo of his dog Kody Van Halen looking miserable as they share a Thanksgiving dinner in bed. Eddie captioned his dog as saying, “HEY!!! This ain’t no turkey!”

Eddie wrote, “Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! #kodyvanhalen #dogsofinstagram #thanksgiving #happythanksgiving #music #guitar #guitarist #food #turkey #dog #pomeranian #family #love #november.” Wolfgang Van Halen commented, “Happy Thanksgiving, Pop!!!!”

Sammy Hagar has spoken frequently recently about his desire to rekindle his friendship with Eddie Van Halen, but the two haven’t spoken since touring and recording new material together in 2004, with one of their last songs being “Up For Breakfast.” Destructo3 posted on VHLinks.com about the song, “I’ve never been critical of Sam’s Lyrics. The guy has written more songs then 95% of his contemporaries. I liked 90% of his VH catalog. Never felt the need to compare him and Dave. Two completely different people with two different styles. I do think Dave has moments of brilliance few have. But that’s not a cut on Sam.”

That said, UFB was the worst song lyrically I can ever imagine Sam writing. It makes you cringe. (Not How Many Say I cringeworthy but very bad.) Cool to hear that song without the lyrics.”

A Guns N’ Roses icon called out Eddie Van Halen disrespect a few days ago. Bad to the Bone responded, “I will never defend the lyrics on UFB, I do like the ride out but it’s the same one that’s on Act Like it Hurts if memory serves me. I do think at that point Sam just wanted to get the fuck out of the studio. It’s the last song they worked on and if it was as bad as has been indicated I honestly think he just wanted out. That’s not to justify anything, it never should have been released.”

Sammy Hagar revealed at the Grammy Museum recently why on his new album with The Circle ‘Space Between’ he did not seek to imitate his rock heroes, “I was raised on Pink Floyd and The Who and even The Beatles, ‘Sgt. Pepper’ and stuff like that. But I didn’t try to emulate anything. I went into it so blind, I kept saying, ‘It’s not a concept record. I’ve got this great idea for this one song. It might not quite fit,’ and then I’d finish and I’d go, ‘Oh, it does fit.’

I had to shuffle the deck a little bit to make them come into a chronological order, but I’m so happy with it. At this stage in my life, I almost can’t believe I did it, but I got so into it that I couldn’t think of anything else. I was just completely taken over by this, and I’ve never had that happen to me in a long time.” Hagar’s bandmate Michael Anthony revealed a tragic photo earlier this week.
