Rage Against The Machine, System of a Down, and Faith No More could share a bill on the biggest festival in South America in 2021 if the festival’s wishlist comes true, according to José Norberto Flesch, the editor of Destak, one of South America’s biggest newspapers. Rage Against The Machine will reportedly tour in 2021.
He said, “Noite de metal do Rock in Rio de 2021 deveria ser: System of a Down. Rage Against the Machine. Faith No More.”
While fans are hoping for the reunited Rage Against The Machine to release a new album, fans have been waiting for new music from System of a Down since their 2011 reunion. Christos74 asked on Reddit, “Why do you think System will or will not release a new album?”
Arbiter_of_Mt_lyell answered, “The MODT likely thing that will happen is that they’ll release unreleased songs from hypnotize and mezmerize along with the finished versions of honey and temper since we have a petition to get them released, along with the bands attention.”
Prabuscus said, “We have the band’s attention? Did they say smth about it that I didn’t see?”
Arbiter_of_Mt_lyell responded, “Well Shavo liked the post on IG, Serj shared a post from a page that had the petition link on it and John shared the exact picture used on the petition as soon as it got popular.”
A System of a Down member joined Tool at a concert last month. System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan told ‘Drinks With Johnny’ about the long delayed new album, “We’ve been enormously successful with each other. So, ego gets in the way a lot. It gets in the way of relationships, it gets in the way of business relationships, and sometimes you lose sight of why you started to do something together. In any industry, but more so in music, people get into their heads sometimes. You’ve gotta let things go in life. You have to let things go in that you’re gonna offend each other, you’re gonna have problems. Every relationship has them. So you’ve gotta get past it and get out of your own fucking way ultimately, and System just hasn’t been able to do that. We have some things that have gotten in the way of doing what we do best.”
Serj Tankian told Billboard about a possible new album, “Maybe one day that will change, maybe that won’t, but we’re all close friends and we enjoy each other’s company and we’re like family at this point, after 25 years. We’ll be announcing some new shows soon.”
