Sammy Hagar has been clear that it is painful for him to not have a good relationship with Eddie Van Halen after their falling out on their 2004 reunion tour, and he revealed his ‘last’ performance video with Eddie before joining Van Halen on his Instagram page a few days ago.
A Van Halen icon revealed a hilarious ‘wasted’ Michael Anthony video a couple of days ago. Hagar said, “#Throwback to the full performance at Farm Aid in 1985.🤘🎸🐮 This was the first show I ever played with Eddie and the last show with the Sammy Hagar Band. #TBT #PreVanHalen #LastSoloShow #HeadsetMicsRule.”
Sammy Hagar discussed his career going ‘backwards’ at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles a few weeks ago, “I go from a solo artist to a band. That’s the first thing. When I first really made it as a solo artist with ‘VOA’ and three platinum albums in a row and headlining two nights at every arena in America, blah blah blah, I join a band. Even David Geffen said, ‘What are you doing? Are you crazy? We’ve worked five years with you, getting you where you are, and now you’re going to join a band?’
It’s kind of different. I don’t study anything. When I do my TV show, I don’t do any research… Don’t tell me anything. I don’t want to know nothing I don’t know already about this guy. I want to go in there completely stupid, with an opening question, and I want to ask that question and take it from there. It’s just the way I like to do things. I really like to be on the edge. I don’t want to rehearse, and I don’t want to be too good, and I don’t want to practice. It’s not because I’m lazy, but I just kind of like winging it and being on the edge and making myself nervous.”
NDL speculated on VHLinks.com if Van Halen will release a holiday message to fans after being quiet, “After a flurry of activity in late Sept/Oct, outside of Wolf calling someone a “mango” a couple of days ago, things have been eerily quiet.
Meanwhile…there’s a part of me that wonders…The reunion with David Lee Roth was pushed off several times, and although I don’t fault the guy for growing impatient, I wonder what would’ve been, had he not pushed the envelope. Again, I am not assigning blame, although I can’t help but let curiosity get the best of me.
The Van Halen’s have NEVER addressed the ‘band is finished’ statement; I can’t help but wonder if they’re leaving the door open a crack…” Eddie Van Halen’s wife revealed a ‘new’ lead singer photo last weekend.
