Tool and Maynard James Keenan warned rude fans who use their phones how they specifically go about enforcing their policy of kicking out concert goers who use their phones during their performances. They recently kicked out several fans. An email ticket notice states, “NO CAMERA POLICY WHICH INCLUDES CELL PHONES: We respectfully request that you please watch and listen to the show, not your phone.
You will be ejected from the show without the opportunity to return and without a refund if you violate this simple request and elect to take photos during the performace. In the event of a personal emergency, phone use may occur on the concourse away from the performance area.”
Tool’s massive 2020 world tour dates were leaked earlier this week. CrystalW187 posted on Reddit thanking Tool’s VIP team, “I just wanted to give a shoutout to the VIP crew. My wife and I are about to drive to Cincinnati for the show tonight (this is her reddit account). We have VIP tickets, and have been worried about our ability to participate in the events that come with the tickets. I have a physical ailment that required a bit of accommodation, and someone from the VIP crew was really helpful in getting it figured out. That’s actually really rare these days; I know from experience.
I was actually considering canceling my ToolArmy membership because there hadn’t been any presales in a while. This experience has changed my mind. I know some others here have had problems with tickets/etc, but these guys (people?) do care, and my impression is that the fans who shell out the dough for VIP tickets are valued.
I don’t know what seats we’ll manage to get since we’ll be arriving late (fingers crossed!), but I’ll see some of you guys at the Cincinnati show tonight!”
