Billy Corgan reacted to video of his Smashing Pumpkins bandmate James Iha jokingly throwing out Tool singer Maynard James Keenan from the studio as he records a new Puscifer album. Keenan and Iha played together in A Perfect Circle for many years until early 2018, when Iha left to rejoin the Pumpkins. Now, a fan has asked Corgan on his Instagram story Q&A about the news.

Is James recording SP stuff remotely with Puscifer?

“He just might be.”

Corgan also discussed the ‘Machina’ reissue, which many fans hope to see released in 2020 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the two albums. Billy Corgan revealed that Jimmy Chamberlin was recording drum tracks for unreleased material from ‘Machina’ earlier this year, and James Iha reworking material has also been hinted at. A Smashing Pumpkins icon disrespecting Maynard James Keenan also also recently revealed.

Could one expect the final Metro show to be included in the Machina reissue? Can’t wait!

“It’s possible but given how big the Machina box will be it’s probably too much to include.”

Being honest, didn’t connect with Machina at the time. Most excited about that reissue though.

“Love to know what you don’t care for. Keeps the motivation up lol.”

Wasn’t a fan of the production style.

“That background white noise feel. Love the demos. Oh jeez. Guess you want to get blocked.”

What are your predictions for music trends in the 2020’s?

“For years I accurately predicted trends, etc. and rarely got credit and only got guff from the aggrieved. So, no. Enjoy your culture.”

What’s it like to work with PPV? Seems wrestling exclusive.

“We could easily do SP PPV’s. Imagine a very special gig anyone in the world could watch for a very reasonable price, and live.” A Smashing Pumpkins member made a quitting announcement last week.
