Eddie Van Halen‘s last concert he attended was a Tool show at Staples Center in Los Angeles in October 2019, and Wolfgang Van Halen told Eddie Trunk on his SiriusXM show what Eddie thought of the show. Alternative Nation recapped some of the highly anticipated interview.

Eddie told Wolfie he was a big fan of Tool bassist Justin Chancellor and he enjoyed the performance, but he did fall asleep during a couple of songs, as he was usually going to sleep at around 7PM every night at the time.

Eddie infamously was asked by a fan at the show to take a photo, but the fan was asking Eddie to take a photo of them like any other concert goer, being completely unaware that they were having the greatest guitarist of all time take a photo of them.

Trunk praised Wolfgang Van Halen’s ability as a singer, and Wolfie said he had to sing his ass off because of Michael Anthony’s legacy with his voice in Van Halen. He said it was a ‘school of hard rocks’ learning how to sing classic Van Halen songs with David Lee Roth. Michael Anthony ‘didn’t speak’ to Eddie Van Halen before his death.

Wolf also mentioned that his favorite Van Halen albums were Fair Warning & 1984 with David Lee Roth, and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge & Balance for Sam.
