Maynard James Keenan seemed to indicate that Tool’s touring and promotional cycle for their new album ‘Fear Inoculum’ will be done by 2020, recently stating on Twitter that Puscifer have huge new album and tour plans for 2021. A fan named Benjamin tweeted Maynard a few weeks ago, “I predict a very pungent campaign from Bill D in 2020 @puscifer @mjkeenan #Berger2020 # #dadjokesintheformofhashtags.” Keenan responded, “#2020votebillyd #howmuchworsecoulditbe @puscifer #puscifer2021.”

Some Tool fans seem to be hoping for a quick followup record in the form of a Christmas album, carrying on the spirit of late Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland’s 2011 ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ album.

A drug meltdown at a Tool concert ruined a fan’s experience a few days ago. ButtBarnacle69 posted on Reddit, “Hear me out: we need a Tool Christmas album. OK hear me out on this. It’s the day after thanksgiving and I’m helping my parents put up their christmas tree and we’re listening to Christmas music.

I already put the kabosh on Mariah Carrey’s All I Want For Christmas is You song because goddamnit I just can’t right now. And it hit me – I would love some art metal renditions of songs I have to listen to just to make it more palatable from time to time.

Don’t get me wrong – I dig regular holiday music too because of the time of year and tradition and what not. But f**k me it’s not even December yet. Let me ease into this in my own way.”

Maynard James Keenan and Tool’s new tour paycheck was revealed yesterday. Dcharger76 commented, “Absolutely not! I hate that I can find their music on spotify. Always felt like I was part of an elite religion now I feel like everybody and anybody can get involved. Wish we could go back to the way it used to be.” The Smashing Pumpkins are working on a Christmas album, but it will not be ready for Christmas 2019.
