Slash has announced that Guns N’ Roses will be taking a break from touring for several months, as he expects to be recording with the band for a ‘few months’ to finish their new album, the long awaited followup to 1991’s Use Your Illusion albums from Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. Slash revealed the news when discussing his tour with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators on the Marshall podcast. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments. Slash revealed how he went broke yesterday.

“We had a sizable break in January of this year, so we went back and revisited the old ideas, and then had a bunch of new ones, put it all together, made a record just in time for me to go back to Guns N’ Roses, do a tour, so I could get back in September to do a run starting with this record. Sort of squeeze a world tour into a relatively short amount of time, and then I’ll go back to Guns.”

He added about his busy schedule, “I mean, I have a break for a couple days coming up. I’m not good with long breaks anyways. After a week, I’m pretty much ready to go.”

Slash dropped a ‘final’ Guns N’ Roses concert bombshell a few days ago. He also said, in the interview conducted before GNR’s recent fall tour, “It’s only a monthlong tour, and then we’ll start focusing on the record. I should be home working on the record with Guns for a few months. For me that’s a break, because you’re not on planes and buses.”

He also said about the Conspirators, “Myles is in Washington state, and I’m in L.A. and the rest of the guys are in [Las] Vegas. So I fly everybody to L.A. and we’ll stay there and we’ll do pre-production and go in and do a record. But now that Guns N’ Roses has become a thing, I have to do that.

So as soon as this [Conspirators] tour is over, I’ll work on Guns. But I will have accumulated enough material out here that when the time comes to work on Conspirators stuff, I already have the material.” Slash’s girlfriend recently revealed a creepy Axl Rose photo.
