Slipknot member M. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan was photographed at his 50th birthday party at Wahlburgers in West Des Moines, Iowa on Tuesday night. It has been a difficult year for Crahan, as he tragically lost his daughter Gabrielle Crahan to a drug overdose in May just as Slipknot were kicking off their new album touring cycle for We Are Not Your Kind. Corey Taylor revealed how he deals with ‘attacks’ in studio with Slipknot last week.
Crahan wrote on his birthday, “Blessed to have made it this far. Today I’m going to work on simply just being. Life is a gift.” He also wrote, “I am so very lucky to have many families to live my life with. Thank you to all for a wonderful day. Forward from here.” Clown’s son Simon Crahan wrote, “Happy birthday padré, You keep teaching me and I keep learning.”
A Slipknot member revealed the bold truth about the new Tool album yesterday. Fans on the Slipknot Reddit sent their well wishes to Crahan. TheGreyMage said, “Shawn, you likely aren’t reading this, but that doesn’t matter. You have already given me so much through your music, I couldn’t possibly ask for me. In return I just want every single member of the band to know that their music has changed my life, impacted me in a way that I honestly cannot describe. Suffice to say that Slipknot has gifted me with some of the most powerful, revelatory musical experiences that I have ever had.”
A shirtless Slipknot member photo was revealed a few days ago. Wolfpuzzy responded, “I couldn’t agree more, I was lucky enough to meet the man this year at the bottle signing and tell him face to face that his music has changed my life since I was 11 years old in 1999. Its absolutely amazing looking back on all the years watching these guys grow and become more amazing year after year and relating their music and lyrics to our own daily lives and struggles.
Slipknot is the best fucking band in the world I feel honored to have been a fan since 99 and be born and raised in the same shithole state as most of them were. WANYK is an absolute masterpiece and a glimmer of hope for maggots like you and I that only more shows, music, and memories are on the horizon and 2020 looks to be another great year to be a maggot. Cheers mate.”
